It's hard to believe this special place of rolling green countryside and white chalky coastland is only half an hour away from the English mainland; time spent here feels nothing like the frantic pace of daily life. And thanks to low light pollution, it's one of the best spots in the South to see the stars flash across the dark sky at night – so remember to pack a flask!

    Really relaxing

The cottage was in a wonderful location it was cosy warm and welcoming. Really relaxing. Things that made our stay enjoyable ..Seeing the red squirrels feeding on the picnic table, listening to the birds singing and the wind blowing through the trees. The peace and tranquillity of the location and the numerous walks from the doorstep. Sitting around the log burner in an evening and relaxing. The way the cottage had been presented and furnished, it was always warm and cosy.

    Blissfully quiet location

Always a bit of an adventure staying in a National Trust Cottage. This was a blissfully quiet location. The cottage was beautifully kept and furnished. The surroundings were surprisingly quiet. The foyers front and back were helpful in terms of cleaning our dog's paws upon entry to the house. It was blissfully quiet outside, and the red squirrels were a delight to see.

    Comfortable cottage/beautiful location

Very comfortable cottage in a beautiful location. Loved seeing the red squirrels, and watching the sheep in the next field. The bluebells and primroses around the cottage made, even a short walk, very enjoyable. Good supply of logs, just a shame it wasn't cold enough to light a fire!

    Very clean property

Very clean property - all the little bits thought of I.e. washing up liquid, cleaning products, hand soap dispensers , plenty of loo paper, dog towel treats and pooh bags and of course milk in the fridge when we arrived and many other things including plenty of hangers in wardrobes!!
