West Cottage is a pretty Victorian farm-labourer's cottage with traditional features and enjoys glorious views of the open countryside and the beach at Polzeath. Semi-detached and with a large enclosed garden with barbeque, this cottage makes a perfect holiday base to explore the miles of walks, coast and countryside; 10 minute stroll down the bridleway will bring you to the beach. The estuary of Rock with its ferry boat to Padstow is just a short drive away.

Walking on the headland around Pentire Point and The Rumps you will enjoy views as extensive as anywhere in North Cornwall. Wild flowers flourish in the hedgerows whilst the farmer makes his hay.

Just opposite are the larger cottage, The Old Farmhouse and Overhaven.

    Cosy clean house

Beautiful location. We know when we book with the national trust we will be staying in an immaculate home that I well equipped. Putting out dog bowls and leaving a pot of dog biscuit was particularly appreciated. The house was cosy and clean and the garden was just wonderful. We also met the gardener, who was friendly and chatty. Our best day was sitting in the garden playing board games in the sunshine.

Best we've stayed in to date!

West cottage is the best cottage we have stayed in to date, the location, the sea view, access to coast path and villages. Even the dog was happy. The newly refurbished bathroom was gorgeous, I loved the Kitchen, the cleanliness and attention to detail was really impressive. Because it is so popular we could only stay 3 nights, so we had to move down the county. Thank you, we will continue to use NT cottages, I just hope we can find one that will meet the same standards as the Lovely West Cottage.

    Very comfortable cottage

Fantastic setting and a very comfortable cottage, well-designed for withstanding high winds. The best view from any bedroom window, looking out across the headland to the sea. Practical, unfussy furnishings and a good stone floor in the kitchen.
