About The Old Smithy

The Old Smithy is a small single storey building tucked away in a peaceful corner of the tiny village of Buckden, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Stone walls and exposed beams add to the charm of this one-bedroom nook. 

Enjoy the cottage’s secluded location and head out for a ramble in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. There are a number of villages nearby if you need to stop for refreshments along the way. 

Further afield, Fountains Abbey is just a 50 miles drive. Explore this historic site and deer park packed with a wide range of wildlife. Nearby Skipton also makes for a great day out and its castle is well worth a visit.

Garden: Small paved area to front of cottage with patio seating area.

Parking: Parking for one car directly in front of the cottage. Additional parking in the village car park, pay and display.

Television/signal: The television is for playing DVDs only as there is no television reception at the cottage.

Access: The bedroom and bathroom are on the ground floor but the cottage may not be suitable for wheelchair users.
