The Chauffeur's Flat is a self-contained, first-floor Art Deco apartment above the old 'Motor House', set within the picturesque grounds of Coleton Fishacre. Spacious and bright, the flat makes a stylish and comfortable base from which to enjoy the celebrated garden of Coleton Fishacre: keen gardeners might find this a particularly attractive prospect. In addition, the beautiful port of Dartmouth is within easy reach, and the spectacular South Devon coast is right on your doorstep.

    Perfect for 2 people

The Chauffeurs flat is set within the beautiful Coleton Fishacre garden. Even with the worst weather ever in February 2016 we managed to enjoy the area and the garden. The flat was cosy, simply but elegantly decorated with art deco style furniture, and the kitchen was well equipped. For 2 people it was perfect.

Nicest NT property we've stayed at!

Unique location perfect for coastal walks and discovering the local area. The Chauffeur's Flat was the nicest NT property we've stayed at and certainly the best standard of cleanliness and repair.

    Made enjoyable...

Besides the fact that the property itself was perfect, the opportunity to access the beautiful gardens at Coleton Fishacre out of hours when ever we liked was a privilege. All of the staff we encountered there and the other NT properties in the area were so friendly and approachable and couldn't be more helpful. We were warned that there was no mobile reception but we hadn't quite appreciated the remoteness of the property and we did wonder what we would do in an emergency if the staff who lived on site weren't at home. Would it be possible to have a landline that receives incoming calls and allows outgoing 999 calls only?

    Good quality cottage

It was the silence around the cottage and the delight of watching house martins flying in and out of their nest just yards from our car. Wandering in the gardens with no-one else around and having time to watch the delphiniums open during the week. Telling the time by watching the visitors arrive and leave. It really felt like a complete stop. It was a good quality cottage, with everything we needed (although only one mug, which was odd) and no more. Don't try and go all up market - the USP is the location and the property itself - that's what attracted me. Everything else is just frippery. A little more info about the local area, such as public transport and the cost of the ferry to Dartmouth would have been helpful, but that's partly what the visitor book does. I thought that you had it just right. Don't mess.
