    Made enjoyable...

Besides the fact that the property itself was perfect, the opportunity to access the beautiful gardens at Coleton Fishacre out of hours when ever we liked was a privilege. All of the staff we encountered there and the other NT properties in the area were so friendly and approachable and couldn't be more helpful. We were warned that there was no mobile reception but we hadn't quite appreciated the remoteness of the property and we did wonder what we would do in an emergency if the staff who lived on site weren't at home. Would it be possible to have a landline that receives incoming calls and allows outgoing 999 calls only?

    Good quality cottage

It was the silence around the cottage and the delight of watching house martins flying in and out of their nest just yards from our car. Wandering in the gardens with no-one else around and having time to watch the delphiniums open during the week. Telling the time by watching the visitors arrive and leave. It really felt like a complete stop. It was a good quality cottage, with everything we needed (although only one mug, which was odd) and no more. Don't try and go all up market - the USP is the location and the property itself - that's what attracted me. Everything else is just frippery. A little more info about the local area, such as public transport and the cost of the ferry to Dartmouth would have been helpful, but that's partly what the visitor book does. I thought that you had it just right. Don't mess.

In grounds of stunning NT Property

This was ideal accommodation for a couple wanting a quiet few days within the grounds of a stunning NT property. Coleton Fishacre was a gem and we would have no hesitation returning to the flat for a visit at a different time of year, to see the spectacular gardens in another season. Very quiet, very comfortable, very clean accommodation in an idyllic National Trust setting. All staff on site were very friendly and helpful. The only minor issue was the visibility/lighting of and ease of access of the key safe at the entry to the property.

    Made special as it:

Reminded us of our parents and grandparents homes. Access to house and gardens was special as they are exceptional. Love Arts and Crafts era. The staff at Coleston Fishacre were extremely friendly, helpful and sociable.
