A former Head Gardener's home, nestled in the romantic woodland garden of Agatha Christie's summer residence. This cottage boasts some of the most spectacular views to be had of the sparkling River Dart.

Ground floor
Entrance hall, utility room, kitchen, dining room and door to sitting room, sitting room with solid fuel stove. Stairs to first floor within the sitting room.

Three bedrooms (2 doubles both with 5' bed, 1 twin), bathroom with shower over bath and shower room.
Visitor notes

Heating: Oil fired central heating.

Parking: Parking for two cars in adjacent open fronted shed, 100 metres from the house.

Garden: Private rear garden. Front garden (not fully enclosed).

Offers: Guests will benefit from a late Sunday checkout of 4pm at this cottage.

Entry to the National Trust's English Riviera properties is yours for free, as well as exclusive out of hours access to the gardens.

The garden is large and extensive with some steep banks, eventually leading down to the River Dart.

Additional Logs can be pre-ordered upon request for your convenience.

Guests will also benefit from a discount voucher which can be redeemed at National Trust Shops across the English Riviera.

Guests who bring a dog to this cottage will receive a "doggy bag" with treats for your four-legged-friend.

    The location of the property, level of comfort and condition of the accommodation, made our stay enjoyable. Welcoming staff throughout Greenway. Access to the house, and out of hours access to the grounds, and as a substantial purchaser within the Shop, the discount voucher!

    The cottage is in a wonderful location and it is especially enjoyable to be able to walk around the grounds when it is quiet and peaceful.

    The house and location were top notch. But we knew that before we went! Nicely kept and clean. The electricity problem on the 1st day was sorted by the regional and local team within hours.

    Lovely house

    South Lodge is a lovely house in a wonderful setting with breathtaking views. Having the run of the Greenway gardens felt an immense privilege. It was the perfect setting for a relaxed family holiday, which all three generations enjoyed - real food for the soul.

  • We cannot accept website bookings more than 15 months in advance. Please call 0344 335 1287 or email to enquire about future bookings and reservations.
  • The National Trust reserves the right to move cottage prices up or down and to alter date breaks. We also reserve the right to charge supplements for cottages for specific dates covering special events, e.g. Rosetta Cottages on the Isle of Wight during Cowes week. We will notify you of any special event supplements at the time of booking.
