Doyden House was built by Captain Herbert Latimer Conor, a former prison governor, at the beginning of the twentieth century. He chose the location as his retirement home for its panoramic ocean views across Lundy Bay towards The Rumps. Whilst Polzeath, Rock and Port Isaac are all within 5 miles, Doyden House enjoys a peaceful location away from the crowds. For uninterrupted views of the ocean and immediate access to the coast path, look no further. The house now comprises four spacious apartments, arranged over two floors, all with magnificent sea views. The lawn around the House is perfect for soaking up the sun and the views on summer days, but the real fires in each of the apartments will add a warm and comforting touch on those days when the Atlantic storms lash the coast.

Rumps offers uninterrupted views towards Pentire Head and the Mouls. Tastefully decorated, Rumps offers a welcoming and comfortable base to explore this utterly fabulous part of Cornwall. Within the same building as Rumps you’ll also find our other holiday cottages Conor, Carnweather and Mouls.

The inlet of Port Quin bay, a rockpooler’s paradise, is just a short walk away. The popular beaches of Rock, Polzeath, Port Isaac all within 4 miles and the South West Coast Path is on your doorstep.

Clean, warm and well appointed cottage

We love the North Cornish Coast. What makes us use the NT is that we know we can rely on the property being very clean, warm, and well appointed; not shabby, not dirty, not lacking in basic equipment.

    Exceeded expectations!

Rumps in Port Quin, Cornwall exceeded all our expectations. Apartment was great. Views amazing. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cottage was very bright and clean and well fitted out. Overall we were exceptionally pleased and we have made a promise to ourselves that we will in future only go to NT properties and we are already planning two holidays for next year which we are looking forward to already. Well done.

    Outstanding location

The location and house where the apartment was situated were outstanding. The views were absolutely fantastic and watching the waves crashing against the rocks was truly amazing. To walk along the coastline to the Rumps was a wonderful walk and not to be missed. The area of Doyden House and Port Quin is a lovely 'get away from it all' location and truly stunning. The apartment was exceptionally clean and comfortable which made for a very enjoyable holiday and it was sad to leave - we can't wait to return!
