It's hard to believe this special place of rolling green countryside and white chalky coastland is only half an hour away from the English mainland; time spent here feels nothing like the frantic pace of daily life. And thanks to low light pollution, it's one of the best spots in the South to see the stars flash across the dark sky at night – so remember to pack a flask!

    Comfortable, relaxed surroundings

We enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere, the comfortable but relaxed surroundings, the space, the situation - the sea, the stars and the rainbows. The people who look after the cottage, cleaning and so on had made sure that everything was in order and provided many thoughtful touches, flowers, a welcoming tray with tea and biscuits act. I have stayed at Rosetta many times with a group of friends and know that the house is always beautifully kept. The lady who looks after the house, Doris and her husband are always thoughtful and considerate I would like to make special mention of the excellent job they do and the manner in which they do it. For our large family gathering with people coming from around the world Rosetta was the perfect place and added greatly to our very memorable festivities. Thank you

    Made enjoyable...

The location and views, given that it is directly opposite the sea: ease of booking and clear directions; the generous size of the accommodation; the quality of the premises; its condition, maintenance and cleanliness; the history of the property, given it's connection with the Churchill / Jerome families; its' proximity to the town of Cowes and a good nearby hotel/restaurant; the overall atmosphere within the property and to some extent a feeling of walking in the footsteps of history. Although I booked relatively late in the season everything proved even better than I had hoped. The whole family were captivated from the moment of arrival. There were no minus points during our short stay, and we would be happy to re-book this cottage again. There is nothing I can think of that would noticeably improve this property letting.

    Made enjoyable...

We loved the location of Rosetta Cottage and the standard of furnishings and catering facilities. The welcome note and biscuits for tea when we arrived was lovely as were the fresh flowers. The history of the cottage was amazing to think we were staying where famous people had partied.
