It's hard to believe this special place of rolling green countryside and white chalky coastland is only half an hour away from the English mainland; time spent here feels nothing like the frantic pace of daily life. And thanks to low light pollution, it's one of the best spots in the South to see the stars flash across the dark sky at night – so remember to pack a flask!

    This cottage beats them all!!

We have stayed in at least 30 NT cottages over the years. This one beats them all. It scores on so many points, the first view from the gate, the southfacing aspect, the huge garden, dahlias to cut and bring inside, roses and jasmine around the door, geraniums below all scoring on the 'smelly' factor. Inside, one is greeted by a warm, light and beautifully cosy décor. The shower is the best we have experienced in a NT Cottage, big bonus in its own cubicle. The kitchen and utility room have everything one would expect. The only thing I would have liked was a set of 'tupperware' like containers.

    Very high standard cottage

A beautiful cottage, maintained, furnished and equipped to a very high standard, cleaned and prepared to an exceptional standard, in a fantastic location - and with the big bonus of a large garden for the children to run around in.

    Didn't want to leave!

So relaxing and peaceful , beautiful gardens a short drive to anywhere on the island - our only disappointment was having to leave at the end of our holiday!

    Cottage beautifully kept

Our 12th stay in Rose Cottage. Appreciated all the improvements - repaired paving and the garden showed tender, love and care. Yvonne keeps the cottage so beautifully. As we had some arctic weather, even though it was June, we were very grateful for the heat from radiators. We hope to return........
