Set just inland from Park Head, and overlooking the secluded valley running down to the cove, Porth Mear adjoins Pentire Farm House and is a traditional Cornish building. From its high vantage point, the house commands sweeping views over the surrounding countryside and down to the sea, and the lighthouse at Trevose Head in the distance is a distinctive landmark. There is easy access to the coast path and a number of lovely coastal walks. The Trust has three cottages in this glorious location; Porth Mear itself, the adjoining farm house and Skipper's Cabin, offering peaceful and remote accommodation within easy reach of some of the finest stretches of coastline and beaches in North Cornwall. All the cottages have large gardens with lovely views.

Porth Mear Cove is a rock pooling paradise and many rare birds can be sighted in this beautiful area. Porthcothan’s sandy beach is just a mile away; Mawgan Porth and Watergate, just three miles away, making the location difficult to match.

    Love cottage position

We love this cottage for it's situation, stunning sea views and the fact that you can experience three magnificent coastal walks from the door step of the cottage. It is very quiet and relaxing and yet is within very easy reach of excellent National Trust properties and many other attractions that interest us e.g. the Eden project, Bodmin Railway, and many other coastal walks and beaches for the children.

    Made enjoyable...

The quiet location near to the coast. The log fire. The comfort and furnishings of the property. The cleanliness on arrival and the welcome flowers and biscuits. Wifi was great surprise as I could occasionally watch the cricket :-)
