Set just inland from Park Head, and overlooking the secluded valley running down to Porth Mear cove, Pentire Farm House is a traditional Cornish building. From its high vantage point, the house commands sweeping views over the surrounding countryside and down to the sea, and the lighthouse at Trevose Head in the distance is a distinctive landmark. There is easy access to the coast path and a number of lovely coastal walks. The Trust has three cottages here, the farmhouse itself, the adjoining Porth Mear Cottage and Skippers Cabin a few hundred yards away, offering peaceful and isolated accommodation within easy reach of some of the finest stretches of coastline and beaches in North Cornwall. All the cottages have large gardens with lovely views.

Porth Mear Cove is a rock pooling paradise and many rare birds can be sighted in this beautiful area. Porthcothan’s sandy beach is just a mile away; Mawgan Porth and Watergate three miles, making the location difficult to match.

    Made enjoyable...

I particularly enjoyed the location of our property (which was The Old Farmhouse, Polzeath which I did not see listed as such in the list given above). I loved being able to go from the cottage straight onto the coastal footpath. I also enjoyed easy access to Polzeath beaches. The cottage supplied a backpack for hiking, kitted out with a blanket, binoculars, etc. This was a very thoughtful touch and we made good use of it during our stay. I also liked the suggested walks described in the welcome folder -- we used them to plan our hikes in the area. We struggled a bit working out how to use the induction cooktop when we first arrived. There was a card with instructions in the drawer which were very helpful once we found them but could be more prominently placed. We also ran out of toilet paper and dishwashing pellets by the end of the week.

Superb location, accommodation and presentation. Easy parking. Welcome touches. If every location is as great, keep up the good work.

    Immaculate cottage

The perfect place to get away from it all. It was so quiet all we could hear was wind, birds, sea. We were minutes from the coastal path and had everything we needed. In stormy weather the cottage was completely snug; on a clear night we could see the Milky Way from the garden. The cottage was immaculate and so thoughtfully equipped with anything we might need for cooking, picnicking, exploring etc. Someone even came to mow the lawn (in November!).

    Surrounded by beautiful countryside

This cottage is in a wonderful location, surrounded by beautiful countryside and so peaceful and quiet. It was just what we needed. Well away from the madness of Cornwall's hotspots, but close enough to visit them for a few hours when we wanted to. A great cottage too with everything that we needed. We were blessed with great weather, but felt that we would have been happy to bunk down and batten the hatches here in the foulest of weather.
