About Mrs Preedy's Cottage

Just across the mill stream and weeping willow trees sits postcard-perfect, Mrs Preedy’s Cottage. The pretty brick and flint cottage can accommodate up to five people and two dogs. Its lounge is complete with a log-burner and there’s a small paved garden to the side of the cottage for when the weather warms.

The cottage sits in An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the north Norfolk coast.  A one and a half mile-long footpath links Burnham Overy Staithe to the sand-dunes and beach, running along the crest of the embankment which protects beautiful water meadows from the creek.

Blakeney Nature Reserve is only a 25 minute drive away, where dunes and marshes provide an ideal spot for bird watching. For the nearest shops and restaurants, head to trendy village of Burnham Market which is just a five minute drive from here. You’ll find quirky boutiques, galleries, book shops, a deli, a bakery, a butchers and tea shops.

Heating: Provided by an air source heat pump system in conjunction with radiators. This system has been installed as part of our renewable energy programme. More information will be in your booking confirmation and the Welcome Folder at Mrs Preedy's Cottage.

Parking: There is parking for three cars behind the cottage.

*WiFi: This is now available, but please note that intermittent connection problems can sometimes occur and should not be relied upon. We are pleased to provide free WiFi at this cottage which is supported by BT.

Please note: The drive and yard area beside the cottage is fenced but care needs to be taken particularly crossing to the shared (unfenced) riverside grassed area opposite as the cottage is located on a sharp bend on the coast road, which can be busy at certain times of the day and in the peak season.

The road and mill pool are very close to the cottage and so young children will need to be supervised.

Offers: Holiday cottage guests have free entry to all National Trust properties during the period of their stay. Full details in the confirmation email upon booking.
