With a dreamy position right on the edge of Carminowe Creek, the eastern arm of Loe Pool, Pentire Farm looks out over the still, shimmering water, with the distant rumble of the waves breaking on Loe Bar beyond. This isolated 18th-century farm has been converted into two separate dwellings: the traditional farmhouse, with its original features including slate floors and low beams, and the single storey barn, Lower Pentire Barn providing comfortable accommodation on one level and with a spacious living area open to its original rafters.

Both have tranquil gardens enjoying bucolic views over the Loe and fields, while the buzzards wheel in the sky above and the gulls chatter on the water.

The restaurants, pubs and shops of Porthleven are a pleasant two-mile walk along the sands from here: those of Helston just two miles inland by car or foot.

If you would like to go on holiday and explore this part of the country you can find out more about our other West Cornwall holiday cottages here.

    Fabulously equipped cottage

A fabulously equipped cottage - perfect if you want to escape the hustle and bustle. A footpath at the bottom of the garden that takes you out to the Loe bar - perfect for dogs in the Winter months.

    Made enjoyable...

Wonderful isolated location. Standard of housekeeping and property maintenance were excellent. Lots of thoughtful things provided that we didn't expect - wellies, rucksack and thermos flask, spare batteries and bulbs, matches, firefighters, milk, biscuits, dog biscuits, dog towels etc. This cottage was our first through NT and was better in every respect than non NT properties we have stayed in previously.

    A "Happy" Cottage!

A warm, welcoming cottage, clean, cosy and with a friendly atmosphere - obviously a "happy" cottage. Only regret is having to leave. The tea-tray and flowers and Christmas card and the milk were a welcome sight after a long drive. The wind howled at night but the thick walls kept us safe and sound. The locals are very helpful and friendly - unlike where we live! The cottage is in a beautiful setting and once we put our little Christmas tree up and a few decorations it was obvious we made the right choice for a cosy and romantic Christmas. A huge thank you to Joy our caretaker for a immaculately presented cottage.
