Loe Pool is of particular interest to birdwatchers and there are variety of footpaths and bridleway routes to explore.

Penrose estate is home to three other cottages, also overlooking Loe Pool but on the seafront is Bar Lodge, The Stables is an apartment in the main house and Whitstone Cottage is on Penrose Hill.

The location of Helston Lodge within the Penrose Estate and also the surrounding area. Also the early spring gardens like Tregwainton.

    Wonderful retreat!

Thank you for providing us with a wonderful retreat! We were delighted to find the cottage so well appointed and so beautifully furnished. It was a haven from which we enjoyed listening to the birdsong, looking out over the lake and making daily forages into the woods and to the beaches.

    Made enjoyable...

Helston Lodge was perfect. It was in an ideal location, just right for exploring the area. An absolutely charming cottage which was immaculately presented. The welcome goodies - milk, tea and coffee, biscuits and flowers - are a lovely touch and much appreciated. So pleased I'd asked for the logs for the fire - we had a real fire every night, which was fabulous. We joined the NT while we were away. We had been members before, joining on our honeymoon, but had allowed membership to lapse. It seemed appropriate, therefore, to rejoin in the year of our 25th wedding anniversary! We won't be leaving again! A small discount for NT members would be lovely....!

    Highly recommend

We would highly recommend Helston Lodge. The cottage was spotlessly clean, comfortable and well equipped. It is set in beautiful surroundings and is within easy access of some fantastic Cornish scenery. We did not tire of the lovely view from the cottage, enhanced by some glorious autumnal colour.

    Very quiet

The location and facilities of the property was excellent and it was very quiet. Ideally located for walks and to visit local sites.
