Perfectly positioned between the vibrant bustle of Falmouth and the tranquil beauty of the Helford, Mawnan Smith is a pretty village with shops and a popular thatched pub.

Glebe Cottage is situated along a quiet sequestered lane that leads to Mawnan Church, which stands guard over the entrance to the Helford. Once a rectory barn, this romantic old building has masses of character, including a galleried landing that looks down into a beamed open-plan living area.

The Trust's garden at Glendurgan is within walking distance, and there are lovely coastal walks around the entrance to the Helford River and out to Rosemullion Head.

If you would like to go on holiday and explore this part of the country you can find out more about our other West Cornwall holiday cottages here.

    We return year after year.

Glebe Cottage is enjoyable because when we return after a year, it's just like we've never been away. We always have a list of places to visit things to do - we never manage all of them and the list just gets longer.

    Beautiful setting

The cottage is in a beautiful setting and provided all that we had hoped for by way of comfort and relaxation. Unfortunately it coincided with the annual closure of Glrndurgan, the nearest NT property, however we were delighted to secure half price admission to Trebah, the garden next door.

    Well equipped kitchen

The cleanliness of the cottage was fantastic, the caretaker does a wonderful job, everything was just right. The cottage was very comfortable and all furniture was in good condition. The kitchen was very well equipped with all modern appliances. There was a very useful map of the local area on the kitchen wall with places of interest marked on it, this was very helpful. The amount of leaflets on local attractions was just right, no duplicates and all in date. The location was very peaceful and excellently placed for the Coastal Path.
