Right in the heart of the village, Forge Cottage is a traditional and beautiful thatched cottage. From this exceptional place, you will be able to soak up the unique and bustling atmosphere of the village - with its old pubs, blacksmith and shop - as well as being able to take advantage of some magnificent walks on your doorstep, along the coast path or inland through the wooded valleys and patchwork fields of this far south-eastern part of Devon. The charming seaside towns of Seaton and Sidmouth are also within easy reach.

Visitor notes

Heating: Night storage and convector heating included.

Parking: Parking for one car in a nominated space in the National Trust car park across the lane.

Garden: There is an enclosed garden with a picnic table.

Utilities/Electricals: The washing machine and tumble dryer is a combined washer/dryer.

Offers: Guests will benefit from a late Sunday checkout of 4pm at this cottage.

Please Note: The road where Forge Cottage is situated leads through the village and can be busy at times.

There are low beams and quite steep stairs.

The hand rail at this cottage is a rope hand rail.

    The situation of Forge Cottage was almost unbeatable as far as we were concerned - only bettered when sited on an NT estate eg Fountains Abbey

    High standard of accommodation and facilities

    The quality of the accommodation and facilities is always of a high standard. Milk/tea/coffee available on arrival is most welcome. Organisation through booking to directions to key availability is faultless.
