About Foel Gopyn

Foel Gopyn is an off-grid, off-the-beaton track escape from modern life. It sits alone in the landscape 450ft above and a mile away from the nearest village. Much care has been taken to preserve its historic charm, and it has traditional interiors complete with a log burner. The cottage now has solar panels on the roof to support the existing generator to provide electricity. It’s the perfect place to relax and explore the surrounding countryside.

Head into the bucolic village of Ysbyty Ifan. Here you’ll find a traditional way of life where its remoteness has helped to foster a close local community. Listen to local people talking in Welsh as it’s the first language to most people in the area.

Further afield, the popular town of Betws y Coed, is just eight miles from the cottage. Explore the town’s wealth of independent shops, pretty tearooms and local attractions, including the nearby Conwy Falls. If climbing Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) is on your bucket list, its hiking trails are just a 30 minute drive from here.
