This traditional cob cottage, with a stable door and the local speciality - a Manaccan plum - growing up its front wall, sits near the head of the lovely Gillan Creek, just to the south of the Helford. Gillan Creek is around a mile long from Carne to the sea, and you can walk its entire length, along the lane to St Anthony and then a footpath out to Dennis Head at the creek's mouth: it is a walk of pure joy. Carne Cottage itself has a garden across the road with a stream running through it, whilst the delightful village of Manaccan - with its pub and shop - is half a mile away. You can hire motor and sailing boats during the summer season from St. Anthony.
