    Difficult to leave for home!

As usual a very tranquil holiday, and lots of beautiful walks. We felt it very difficult to leave for home.

    Never disappointed.

Both my wife and myself, together with our two sons, have stayed at several National Trust Cottages. These have never disappointed us and we will continue to explore the various options available across the UK. Sometimes it's just two of us sometimes we need rooms for four. We have discussed staying with our friends at a larger property which can accommodate eight. One for the future. Regarding our stay in the Butler's Apartment at Florence Court. We found the booking easy, the pre information excellent, our arrival was well planned and our reception from the staff friendly and extremely helpful. The first impression was a surprise as this apartment was completely different from past properties. This added to our experience. We were also surprised by the size of the accommodation which could only be described as large and comfortably equipped for a family group. I did find the property to be a little dark during the day, however this helped illustrate an element of domestic living at Florence Court, a property which resisted the introduction of modern improvements until the 1940's. We would most certainly return to stay again and loved both the house and especially the gardens and walks around the estate, both during the day and when all the visitors had left the site. This gave us the feeling of what it must have been like to live at Florence Court. Somewhat of a privilege in a beautiful location. Keep up the excellent work National Trust and I must say that my experience and visits to both your properties and cottages have inspired me to consider working for the National Trust. I have worked in museums for over twenty years and I am frequently looking at your website for any available job opportunities. This is clearly testament to your professionalism, the valuable service that the Trust provides in protecting our heritage and the friendly and welcoming service provision.

    Very nice style and decor

Being able to step out the door and walk made our stay enjoyable. The guardian was especially friendly. The decor and style including antiques was very nice and I appreciated the books and board games provided.

    Made enjoyable by ..

unique opportunity to stay at Florence Court and to wander freely around the grounds. Also liked the idea that we were staying in the very same accommodation as the servants in year's past - though obviously much more comfortably!
