Peppercombe Bothy offers very basic accommodation in a gated wooded valley with views across Bideford Bay towards Lundy. There is no dressing it up, the bothy is effectively a stone tent. It is the ideal spot to stop for a night or two if walking the South West Coast Path which passes through the valley, just 200 metres away. Alternatively it will appeal to those who enjoy the simple things and happily forgo the trappings of modern life for the right setting.
You share the tranquil valley, which is a haven for wildlife, with a handful of neighbours. A meandering path takes you down to secluded Peppercombe beach. It is the perfect spot for rock pooling, fishing and at low tide boasts an expanse of sandy beach.
If you can drag yourself away just along the coast is Clovelly, a famous old fishing village with a steep cobbled high street leading down to the harbour, Westward Ho! with a large sandy beach and excellent water sports.
Pack as if going camping but leave your tent at home. The Bothy is basic, it is camping with a roof! There is no form of heating, light or cooking facilities in the bothy.
The Bothy would appeal to people who want to get away from it all and those people who love to camp. The Bothy is in a tranquil remote setting in a gated wooded valley 5 minutes from a beach. Close to the South West Coast path.
2 well trained dogs are welcome at this bothy at no extra charge.
