The Tour De France 2014 includes two stages in Yorkshire before heading south to London.

The first stage will start on Saturday 5th July 2014 in front of Leeds Town Hall and will cover 190 km (120 miles) through the Yorkshire countryside, especially the splendid Yorkshire Dales National Park in the Pennines, before reaching Harrogate, where the first Yellow Jersey of the Tour de France 2014 will be awarded. The first stage will pass close to the National Trust cottages at Fountains Abbey near Ripon, eleven of them including  Lark Cottage and Lapwing Cottage. Later in the stage it will pass close to Skipton where we have Scar House, Darnbrook Barn, Darnbrook Cottage and The Old Smithy in the surrounding dales.

Sunday 6th July 2014 the riders will leave from the historic city of York for Sheffield on a very tricky 200-km (125 miles) stage including  the formidable Holme Moss to climb. Our apartments at the heart of York including, Minstergate will put you close to the starting line. The stage later passe through the walkers paradise, Hebden Bridge and within a short drive of  The Lodge and Widdop Gate Barn

Many of our cottages will put you in reach of both stages so book your holiday cottage accommodation early.
