The Trust have more than 55 holiday cottages in Wales and the distinctive, boundless landscape of Wales is home to an array of remote cottages. Wales is perfect for a weekend trip away or a family holiday to escape and hide away from the usual day-to-day antics. We have a charming collection of remote cottages in some secretive locations across the Welsh landscape, including some on the west coast where the sandy bays are superb for watching the sunset and long walks without any distractions.

Pant Rhiw Cottage is ideal for those looking to take it easy,not wishing to be disturbed and the spectacular views across Hell’s Mouth Bay make the walk to the cottage worthwhile. Out in the middle of nowhere is Foel Gopyn. This isolated former gamekeeper's cottage enjoys magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and moorlands and you could not be further away from urban towns and industries!

Cornwall is a magical and magnetising place drawing visitors back time and time again. The Cornish coast has a plethora of bays and coves and we have many coastal holiday cottages as a trip to the seaside makes any holiday instantly better. Cornwall is famous for its beautiful beaches and is home to some of the finest in the UK, with long stretches of golden sands, secret lagoons and remote bays hidden away.

Doyden Castle is neatly located on the lonesome cliffside, free from civilisation and the fantasy of staying in a castle becomes more real. Wood Cottage stands at the end of a dense woodland and the thatched cabin has a magical aurora, making it perfect for a romantic week away.

You can really relax and revel in the remoteness of the Lake District.

Set in a remote, rural hideaway, Thrang is a rustic and peaceful cottage, which is tucked away amongst the streams and fells and it’s the ideal place to make base to explore the Lake District. Looking for something special? Trees is a unique holiday cottage. Elevated above Lake Windermere, you couldn’t be closer to the nature and wildlife of Cumbria and the log cottage is the perfect starting point for many treks.

The Peak District boasts a similar aesthetic. The Trust supply a characterful collection of holiday cottages situated in the heart of England, and our selection of remote cottages are covered in wilderness, including woodland vistas, surrounded by flowing rivers and craggy verges fill the landscape.

Stunningly located, White Edge Lodge is surrounded by the wide expanses of open heather moorland of White Edge Moor in the National Park and the cottage is a paradise for walkers and birdwatchers. On the boundaries of a 1,400 acre deer park, East Lodge offers privacy, as long as you don’t mind the deer! This holiday cottage is very much for the tranquility and peace-seekers.
