Visitors to Greenway were in for a surprise this June, when they found themselves on the edge of a 1930s murder mystery as the house played host to David Suchet’s Hercule Poirot in an adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Dead Man’s Folly.
Greenway’s appearance in the thirteenth and final series of Poirot is particularly fitting, as it is Agatha Christie’s former holiday home and provided the inspiration for the house at the centre of the mystery. Greenway is also a special place for star David Suchet, who first visited in 1987 as a guest of the Agatha Christie family, and said that ‘having the opportunity to film at Greenway was truly wonderful and a memory I will cherish’.
You can get closer to this beautiful location with a stay in a National Trust Holiday Cottage: we have three lovely cottages at Greenway, where you can relax in the setting of Dead Man’s Folly without losing sleep over whodunit.
Get right to the heart of the story with a stay in The Apartment, which sleeps 10 in comfort and style on the first and second floors of Greenway house itself. This spacious apartment captures Greenway’s 1950s heyday, where you can almost imagine settling down in the drawing room after dinner to hear Agatha read aloud from her latest book, as she often did for her guests.
