Coastal holiday cottages bring you one step closer to that glorious beach holiday. Trips to the seaside are often a holiday highlight, and come rain or shine, heading to the beach is always atop of the to-do list.

Seaside holidays are ideal for a Great British getaway with over 775 miles of UK coastline in Trust care and we also look after over 240 coastal holiday cottages. From cosy cabins on dramatic clifftops to unique cottages overlooking golden beaches, there’s a coastal retreat out there for everyone.  

Your next holiday could see you exploring the South West coast, from the rugged coastline and coves in Cornwall, the beautiful sandy beaches in Somerset, to the historic Jurassic Coast with our Devon and Dorset coastal cottages.

Cornwall is surrounded by an abundance of amazing beaches and we have over 100 unique cornish holiday cottages in our care. The cornish coast is home to some of Britain’s finest beaches, with heavenly stretches of golden sands, vibrant lagoons and secretive hidden bays making Cornwall the perfect place to enjoy a coastal cottage.

Kynance Cove is one of England’s finest beaches and the Lizard is home to an array of coastal cottages on the Peninsula. The West Coast town of Boscastle there is a rare example of a beautifully unspoilt 17th-century home, Elm Cottage, which has been remarkably refurbished to maintain the essential character of the building and features. We have a delightful collection of Devon coastal cottages, including the idyllic seaside towns of Exeter and the English Riviera. Famous for its bellowing cliffs and jaw-dropping panoramic views, the sandy shores of Devon are a perfect spot for a beach holiday. Take advantage of the warm Gulf Stream in South Devon and discover its subtropical climate and fragrant coastal gardens where the scent of lemon trees and tiger lillies fill the air.

Wonderfully positioned right on the edge of Wembury Beach, Mill Cottage can become popular in the summer months. You would be hard pressed to find a cottage closer to the sea and you can even hear the calming sound of the waves on the shore as you go to bed at night. Or for a superb riverside location, the picturesque, Grade 2 listed Ferry Cottage, is one of our new cottages and the property looks traditional from the outside but has a modern feel on the inside.

We have a charming collection of more than 55 Wales coastal cottages, with a special selection of holiday cottages in Pembrokeshire, Cardigan Bay, Gower Peninsula and the Lyn Peninsula. The ever so colourful beach huts at Llanbedrog beach and seal-spotting at Porthor Beach are just a few of the extraordinary highlights of the very special Llyn Peninsula.

We have plenty of coastal holiday cottages that sleep 2 which are perfect for a romantic getaway. Penarvon Cabin is perched amongst trees on a low bluff above Penarvon Cove, on the outskirts of Helford village. The waters of the Helford lap at the shore below you and you can hear the birds tweet away in the morning as they feed on the incoming tide.

Get cosy in Wales with our special selection of coastal cottages. Tucked away in the vistas and overlooking the open waves is the National Trust restored listed building of Tan y Bwlch, which sleeps two, is the epitome of a romantic trip for two.

Did you know you can bring your dogs to some of our coastal cottages? We have a grand collection of dog friendly holiday cottages that are perfect from letting man’s best friend tag along on your trip away. We have dog friendly cottages in Cornwall, Wales, East Anglia and other wonderful seaside settings.

The South West Coast Path is England’s longest waymarked footpath that reaches 630 miles and the National Trail ventures through North Devon, circles coastline of Cornwall, before returning to South Devon. It’s ideal for your pooch too!
