Christmas will soon be here and a festive getaway in one of our holiday cottages will go down a treat. A cosy Christmas cottage, roaring fire, loved ones, presents, mouth-watering food in a snow covered setting is what Christmas is all about and the Trust have plenty of cottages ready for a wintery escape.

It’s not too late to book for Christmas 2016. We can provide a charming Christmas cottage, crackling fire and let’s hope for a white winter. Why not check out our special offers? If you’re only able to take a few days away over Christmas, then you may be interested in a short UK break at one of our holiday cottages.

We really do have the perfect Christmas cottage to help you enjoy the festive season. Our holiday cottages can be found in lovely locations all over the British Isles, that have all the potential of making a very magical Christmas. Gaze out at spectacular seaside vistas in Cornwall, or spend days exploring picturesque villages in Norfolk and all the wintery walks are perfect for tiring out the kids so they’re asleep for when Father Christmas visits!

With so much to do this winter, Christmas markets really amplify the festive period, with plenty of fairs in Lincolnshire, Devon, Dorset, and many other UK destinations near you. Or for something a bit different, explore a real wintery fantasy this Christmas as Killerton House transformed like you have never seen it before.

A Christmas away from home doesn’t mean abandoning your own Yuletide traditions. Make this Christmas extra special for all the family with a break in a National Trust holiday cottage, so have a peek at some of our more unique properties.

If you’ve always wanted that big family Christmas, our grand country houses will gift you with a Christmas to remember. Huge manor houses and farmhouses with spacious dining rooms offer the ideal setting for large gatherings with family and friends. With cavernous kitchens and dining halls, plenty of beds for the forgotten in-laws, space for even the biggest of family games and room for that after-dinner snooze.

The Lighthouse Keepers’ Cottage boasts a jaw-dropping location. Perched in the cliffside, the Devonshire holiday home sleeps 10 and is the dream getaway to spend the festive period with family and friends. Again, sleeping 10, Emley Farmhouse offers a grand kitchen that is ideal for cooking up a Christmas feast.

Enjoy a romantic getaway for two this Christmas in a Trust holiday cottage. We believe we have something for everyone for this festive time of year. We offer small, picturesque, romantic cottages, for couples wanting to lock themselves away from it all and revel in a special Christmas together. Take a break in one of our secluded countryside cottages and enjoy crisp winter walks hand-in-hand, and return to your remote holiday home and snuggle up next to an open fire.

The Abbey Stores stone cottage sleeps two and is a sublime choice for a romantic break away this Christmas. As is Nant Las, hidden in secluded Welsh forest, and has the added benefit of an open log fire which is perfect for getting cosy.

Our coastal cottages offer spectacular seaside views, and what is better than a crisp, Christmassy stroll on the beach before tucking into some turkey with all the trimmings. This Christmas, you could see you exploring the South West coast, from the rugged coastline and coves in Cornwall, the beautiful sandy beaches in Somerset, to the historic Jurassic Coast with our Devon and Dorset coastal cottages.

Wintery walks are one of the best things about a National Trust holiday. Outside your window, frosted hills speckled with beech, birch and oak lay waiting to be explored on your morning walk and you may spot some wintery wildlife. Walk off large Christmas dinners and that Christmas pudding and wear out the children. We even have dog friendly holiday cottages so you can bring along your beloved doggies this Christmas!
